We need a new rep for the BCHPA

Hi Guys

As you are aware, our current BCHPA rep, Torge, has left the country. As a result we have a vacancy which needs to be filled.

If you live in BC and are an HPAC member, you are automatically a member of BCHPA. The BCHPA essentially receives about $2500/year from money you pay HPAC and it's mandate is primarily site preservation across BC. Currently, they have about $15,000 and are just dying to give it away.

Over the last few years, it was the BCHPA which commissioned an Environmental Impact Assessment Study of Hang Gliding and Paragliding across Canada. It is our primary calling card for access to all lands, public and private, including, one day hopefully, the National Parks.

The position essentially involves finding sites on the Island where we can spend BCHPA money. Also, there will be some email discussion with the rest of the board (5 in all) on proposals from other parts of the province that come in. Maybe 2-3/year.

If anyone is interested please contact myself: doctoramir@yahoo.com or Margit Nance the president: margitnance@shaw.ca

Lots of good can come of this position. Please don't be shy and put your name up for consideration.

Thanks,

Amir
