I would like to have whoever is interested to meet at my house (20 minutes from Black Jack Launch) late Sunday afternoon for a briefing and a trip up to take a look. My phone # is 758-8821 and my email   jjpoolATtelusDOTnet.

If people would like to come out on Sunday they can contact me for directions and such.  Also, Don Herres knows my number and how to get to my house.  Let’s say 3pm on Sunday.

I can take a couple people in my truck. Pretty much any 4x4 will do, but if you’re nervous about scratches (branches) you might want to jump in with someone else.  I would suggest a brief work party once we get up.  It won’t take much to get it so someone can launch (I’m guessing half a dozen people half an hour) I will bring a weedeater, but if someone has a peeve they should bring it to roll a few logs out of the launch path. I will try to contact the owner of the tower on Benson to get the gate key and we can look at that too while we are there. It would only be a 20-30 minute drive from BJ to Benson launch.

Also, I found a good LZ for landing behind Benson.  All the time I’ve been looking at Benson I was thinking about coming out the north side. There is a very doable LZ off the back though (me and Jean found it while exploring BJ). Actually, launching off the back of Benson would be more doable than the front anyway.

Well, I have lots of thoughts on flying in that area and am looking forward to bouncing them off more experienced pilots.  Hope to see you on Sunday.
