A big thanks to Mark.

A very big thanks to Mark and Paul for organizing the HAM radio course.  You know I have my Masters in Education and part of my PHD... and yet I struggle with multiple choice tests...  I second guess myself... and I get really nervous.  I studied for this test and just really wanted to thank Mark for helping to make it much less stressful.  I was pleased to pass this test totally on my own and actually understand some of it!  You know its tough being the only girl in a room full of 20 men.  I really came into this test with NO prior knowledge about radios, electricity, etc. etc. I know most of you guys played around with such things growing up but not me - I danced!  Anyway, for many of you this was just a routine test but for me it was an accomplishment.  I sure wish there were more active female pilots on the island.  Sometimes its tough being a minority.

On a different note, Dave, I can't make the club meeting on Thursday... but I am happy to volunteer to do the trophies again.  I can go to the same compay as last time because they gave me a good deal.  Just let me know if you want me to do this.  Also, my friend Ralph (hang glider from Calgary) should be going to the meeting.  He's living locally now, please make him feel welcome.  Finally, Dave can you add Will to the club members list, he paid his dues.  Oh and one more thing Dave perhaps we can do the draw for the painting at the Christmas party????  John Smith has the tickets right now - John maybe you can bring these to the next meeting and sell a few

Thanks everyone :)

Big Kudos to Mark!!!
Just wanted to thank you again for all your time and effort for your preparation and instruction for the ham and hagar instruction.
The hagar was a major bonus because we can all actually put into practical use.. not just pass the exam. And we will all be able to put forth a professional image for our sport in the eyes of Transport Canada.... by not going into areas we shouldn't be in.
We should have recorded your instruction on video so that any other pilot's would have access to the information without you having to repeat it in person, and also for those who couldn't/wouldn't take the time or effort to be there, or who don't realize how we may affect our image by flying irresponsibly without the knowledge, or be putting ourselves in unnecessary potential danger of other aircraft.
